| Heart’s Desire
One reason HCR Manor Care has become the nation’s leader in long-term nursing care is the strong emotional and social support their residents receive. Case in point is the Heart’s Desire program. R/P helped HCR develop and promote this annual event where elderly residents re-live a fond memory or relish an experience they never got around to doing. Desires fulfilled have ranged from riding a Harley motorcycle, to milking a cow, to attending a high school prom. The debut year received coverage by the Today Show and scores of newspapers, big and small. Each year, the press still covers stories of desires fulfilled. This program earned R/P their first national Silver Anvil Award – the highest honor from the Public Relations Society of America. |
